WANDERERS have been told to forget about the FA Cup and give a “full-blooded performance” against Swindon Town.

Despite the proximity of a replay against Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace and the lure of a fourth round game against Manchester City, the task facing Phil Parkinson’s side has been brought sharply into focus by their opponents’ transfer business.

Luke Williams has brought FOUR new players into the County Ground squad this week, three of whom are on the books of Chelsea.

Stamford Bridge hopefuls Charlie Colkett, Islam Feruz and Fankaty Dabo joined Swindon fan-favourite Ben Gladwin to boost a squad which has struggled this season – making tomorrow’s clash a very different prospect for the Whites.

“This is a very different Swindon team now – they have signed four players, three of them from Chelsea,” he told The Bolton News. “Like a lot of teams down the bottom, you look to change things around and improve.

“We have got to be ready for a real tussle.

“The atmosphere for games against Scunthorpe and Crystal Palace can take care of itself. Scunthorpe were high-flying, Palace are a Premier League side, this is absolutely crucial for us.

“We need a real full-blooded performance.”

Wanderers have won their last seven home games but could be missing Josh Vela through illness and James Henry with a thigh strain.

Parkinson is taking nothing for granted – and has seen in games against Shrewsbury and Coventry how a drop in application nearly cost points. And the manager reckons fans have also got a big role to play.

“We know what is required to win games like that but your attitude has to be right,” he said.

“The supporters have been terrific, the lads haven’t shut up about the atmosphere in the ground,.

“I need to tell them too – you need to come to the stadium and understand what a big game this is for the club. We want to enjoy Selhurst Park, we want to go there in good spirits. This is our bread and butter.”
