WANDERERS slumped to a rare home defeat after Yaser Kasim’s 89th minute strike gave Swindon their first win in 10 games.

Phil Parkinson’s side struggled to get going but grabbed a lead just after half time with a brilliant volley from David Wheater, his fourth of the season.

They looked in control but Ben Gladwin – one of four Swindon debutants – blasted an equaliser past Ben Alnwick with the help of a deflection on the hour.

Wanderers had won their previous seven home league games and pressed hard for all three points.

But they were caught on the break as Charlie Colkett crossed from the right for Kasim to stab home at the far post.

Parkinson admitted his side should have held on for at least a point.

"We'd started really well in the second half and got a goal ahead, then got in so many positions where we needed a bit of quality but we didn't pick the right pass or stick the chance away.

"In any game of football you are only going to get 'x' amount of chances. We really should have gone on to win.

"Their goal was really the first effort they had put on target all game but even then we should have held on to a point. Maybe we chased it a bit too much."
