TONIGHT’S televised match at Preston North End could see Wanderers finally get out of the relegation zone, if only for a matter of hours.

And boss Phil Parkinson is determined to make the most of being the first team to take the field this weekend, even with more than five months of the season to go.

“Psychologically getting off the bottom after the Norwich game and Sunderland not picking up the result at Middlesbrough was a boost,” he said. “To have two weeks off the bottom after being there for so long was good, now we’ve got another incentive, hopefully we can make the most of the opportunity.

“At this stage teams aren’t looking at each other as much as you would with 10 games to go but equally for us to be able to go into the weekend out of the bottom three would be good and we have to give everything we’ve got to achieve that.”
