RADCLIFFE Old Boys A ran riot in Division Two as they trounced Hindley Town 14-1.

Paul Murray led the way with seven, Abid Uddin and Cas Clarke each scored a hat-trick and Mark Fitton hit the other. Darren Collier scored shell-shocked Hindley’s goal.

Division leaders Turton Vets were held to a 3-3 draw by Bolton Lads and Girls Club for whom Wes Gallagher scored one and Stu Vasalya two, but Paul Hayes (two) and Stu Williams’ goals keep Turton at the top.

Old Boltonians are just a point behind after a 2-0 win at bottom side Tavern Vets thanks to goals from Ash Walsh and Richard Stokes.

Dobbies A, with one game in hand, could also overhaul Turton after winning 3-1 at home against Radcliffe Vets. Anthony Healey, Lee Dickinson and Lee Smith scored Dobbies’ goals.

In Division Three Home Guard Failsworth held on to top spot by thrashing Morning Star 5-0. Rob Black scored a brace and Carl Gavin and Paul Tasker one, an own goal sealing Morning Star’s fate.

Dobbies B kept up the pressure with a comfortable 6-2 win at Vulcan Walkden and are just one point behind the leaders with a game in hand. Although Ian Teasdake scored a brace for Vulcan, they were no match for the visitors as David Cosgrave hit a hat-trick and Mike Longsdale, Mike Longshaw and Andrew Benjamin got a goal each.

Radcliffe Town suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of visitors Horwich St Mary’s Victoria.

Three Division Four games produced 19 goals, seven in Bolton Wyresdale’s 5-2 win against Radcliffe Old Boys B.

Heaton Casuals are three points clear of the pack, but have played two games more than all the others.

Dez Wilcox, Rob Walsh, Tony McCormick and Clint Hibert gave them a 4-2 win against PF Bury, while John Done’s hat-trick and goals from Mark Shannon, Neil Challoner and Dennis Hilton saw Atherton Town to a 6-0 victory at Deans Youth and Ladies.

Division One is down to eight teams following the demise of North Walkden.

As the only team to have lost to them, Manor Vets have benefited, but they lost at home on Sunday to Bar Lane Bowling Club with Brett Metcalfe netting twice.

Salford Waggon played only their second league game of the season and went down 3-2 to Salford Victoria.

Bamford Arms stay second in Division One despite losing 3-2 at Queen Lizzy.
