DARREN Pratley could miss Wanderers’ crucial home clash with Burton Albion because of a knee injury.

The club skipper has been unable to train this week with a knock picked up late in the victory over Barnsley nearly a fortnight ago.

Heavily bandaged at Forest last weekend, Pratley got through 80 minutes at the City Ground before being replaced by Craig Noone.

Phil Parkinson could be forced into a reshuffle in his midfield, bringing the likes of Josh Cullen or Jem Karacan into play.

Burton are likely to bring another familiar face back to the Macron, with former £3.2million signing Marvin Sordell recovering from a groin injury which kept him out of the home defeat against Preston.

“Marvin has a chance to play against his old club at the weekend,” confirmed manager Nigel Clough. “He will be keen to get out there.”

Sordell managed just 29 appearances, nearly half of which were from the bench, after signing a big money deal from Watford on January deadline day 2011.

During that time he managed eight goals and was loaned out to Charlton before finally being sold to Burnley for £500,000 in July 2014.

Meanwhile, Wanderers’ home clash with Bristol City has been moved back to Friday, February 2, for live television coverage – representing a small financial boost for the coffers in time for the January transfer window.

Parkinson will be hoping for another in the shape of a win against Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup third round, and the Wanderers boss is looking forward to testing himself against Premier League opposition.

“I think it’s a decent draw for us,” he said. “Both teams have got a lot of football to play before that but a Premiership team at home, we didn’t want a long journey, as a staff we look at things like that purely energy-wise for the team after a busy period.

Wanderers’ Under-18s go to Middlesbrough tonight looking to book an away trip to Stevenage in the fourth round.

“We’ll be wishing them well on their way up there,” added Parkinson.
