BURNDEN’S Lorraine Halwood completed her 37th marathon with a great run in difficult weather conditions along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal at Kirkstall.
She was third female finisher on the day at the It’s Grim Up North running event in a terrific time of 4hrs 26mins 8secs.
Simon Marland and Sue Blackman took on the half-marathon distance. Marland crossed the line in 1:45:56 and Blackman had a time of 2:39:41.
Meanwhile, three members took part in the seasonal Longridge Christmas Pudding 7-Miler near Preston.
Gayle Gerrard was the first to finish in 58:36, followed by Denise Hodgkinson in 1:04:43 and Dawn Evans in 1:22:43.
Two Sarahs travelled the farthest to compete, taking on runs at the Lanzarote Marathon festival.
Sarah Sutcliffe covered the full marathon course in 4:11:13, while Sarah Watton was an impressive 20th in the ladies' half marathon race – and ninth in her senior category – with a time of 1:41:23.
