IT is tight at the top in Division One with top three teams all level on points.

Bamford Army are top on goal difference from second and third-place Manor Vets and Salford Victoria after the trio all won on Sunday.

Manor Vets beat Queen Lizzy 4-2, in which Daniel Abucewicz hit a hat-trick, while Salford Victoria won 3-1 at home to Bar Lane Bowling Club.

Two goals from Alan Houghton and one from Tony Weall earned Salford the three points with seventh-place Bar Lane’s goal coming from Greg Richardson.

In Division Two, Turton Vets FC beat bottom club Tavern Vets 5-1 with two goals from Stewart William and one each from Daren Holt, Andrew Clarke and Andy Burns.

John Coogan scored for Tavern who are still looking for their first point.

Turton Vets are one point behind league leaders Radcliffe Old Boys A, who did not play and have two games in hand.

Sixth-place Bolton Lads and Girls Club moved three points clear of Heaton Vets with a 3-1 victory. Stewart Vasalya scored two and Matty Fairclough one for the winners, with Heaton’s consolation coming from Damian Smith.

A total of 19 goals were scored in Division Three with 10 coming Dobbies B’s 7-3 home victory over Vulcan Walkden.

David Cosgrave and Martin Budworth scored two each with Andrew Benjamin, Mikel Longsdale and Darren Riley adding one apiece for unbeaten Dobbies with Walkden’s coming from Mark Morris, two, and James Mears one.

The gap has been narrowed between league leaders Home Guard Failsworth and Dobbies B, with Home Guard having a game in hand.

Third-place Horwich St Mary’s Victoria beat the side one place below them, Radcliffe Town Vets, 3-0.

Fourth Division’s top two sides, Heaton Casuals and Bolton Wyresdale, shared the points in a 3-3 draw,

Ainsworth B hammered struggling Bury Seniors 5-1 with two goals from Michael Jefferson, one each from Gareth Harrison and Alan Holdsworth, and an own goal.

Atherton Town Vets are third, leapfrogging Radcliffe Old Boys on goal difference after beating them 3-2 away with goals from Scott Mulcrow, Mark Bretherton and Peter Higgins.

Mark Rogers, with two, and Mark Brady were on target for Deans Youth and Ladies, but they could not earn their first point when they lost 4-3 to PF Bury.
