TONGE are staging an evening with former Lancashire and England player Warren Hegg.

The former wicketkeeper/batsman, who used to play for Tonge, is head of cricket business at Lancashire, a role which includes developing the local game commercially and in other ways.

Hegg will be meeting local players and members at Tonge and discussing the local game as well as taking a question and answer session.

The evening, which will also include an auction and raffle, takes place on Monday, February 5, at the club on the junction of Tonge Moor Road and Crompton Way, starting at 7pm.

Tonge have begun winter nets and invite new players to take part. Senior nets take place on Sundays at 1pm at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy sports hall.

Junior nets, for players aged seven to 13, are held at Canon Slade sports hall on Thursdays between 7pm and 9pm.

New and existing players are welcome and for more information contact Paul Schofield on 07882 802754 or Pauljscho@hotmail.co.uk
