HORWICH and Farnworth Social Circle will meet in the final of the Bolton University Under-11s Indoor Competition this weekend.

Horwich finished top of the league with three wins out of three while Social Circle suffered their first loss of the competition on Sunday.

The pair finished in the top two, with Social Circle's average bettering that of Heaton, Roe Green and Eagley who also all finished on four points.

Blackrod were the latest team to be overcome by Horwich whose 237-3 bettered their opponents' 213-3.

Social Circle (216-4) just missed out on taking their 100-per-cent winning record into the final when they lost by one run to Eagley (217-6).

Heaton (243-5) finished third after beating Egerton (231-5), with Roe Green (254-2) taking fourth place following a victory over Bradshaw (221-2).

The competition concludes this Sunday and is the middle of three tournaments which began with the u9s last month and concludes with the u13s in March.

All the tournaments are held at Smithills Sports Centre, organised by the Bolton Cricket Development Group, sponsored by the University of Bolton and officiated by Bolton Cricket League umpires.

The tournament has been in existence for several years but was previously only played at u11s.

Organisers have extended the competition this year by adding u9s and u13s events.
