KEARSLEY and Horwich made it two wins out of two in the second week of the Bolton University Under-13s Indoor Competition on Sunday.

Blackrod (230-3) lost their second successive game of the competition when they found Kearsley (292-2) much too strong.

The latter lead Horwich by virtue of a better average – which is calculated by subtracting a team's total runs conceded from their total runs scored.

Horwich's 254-3 was enough to get the better of Heaton (228-10).

There are four teams on two points, led by Egerton whose 264-3 comfortably bettered Roe Green's 191-8.

In the other game, fourth-placed Bradshaw (257-2) beat second-bottom Eagley (239-3).

The competition continues for another two weeks and is the last of three tournaments which began with the u9s in January and saw the u11s compete last month.

All the tournaments are held at Smithills Sports Centre, organised by the Bolton Cricket Development Group, sponsored by the University of Bolton and officiated by Bolton Cricket League umpires.

The Bolton Cricket Development Group Indoor Tournament has been in existence for several years but was previously only played at u11s.
