BOXER Amir Khan has surprised young fans by including them in his final training run before his fight this Saturday.

The children were taking part in an Easter holiday football camp and were at the Macron Stadium when they decided to record a message of support for Amir.

But as they gathered at the Wanderers' home ground the boxer delighted them by turning up to meet them.

The youngsters were unaware that Amir would be joining them for their scheduled run and as the young boxing fans recorded their messages he joined them in the home side's changing room before leading them though the tunnel onto the pitch.

Amir is busy preparing for his fight against Phil Lo Greco at the Liverpool Echo Arena this weekend, his first fight in the UK for five years.

And 40 of the children followed their hero on his final pre fight run for laps around the pitch and up the terraces at the Macron.

Amir then led a stretching session and discussed his training programme and how they might be able to use some of what he does to improve their own performances on the football pitch.

Amir said: "It's great to be back here in Bolton. I’ve been away for a long time and I can’t wait to get back out in front of my home fans at the Echo Arena.

"I’m joining some young fans for my final run before the fight, and what a place to do it in the bowl of the Macron Stadium.

"The fans over here are the best and I love these opportunities to get to meet them and thank them for all their support.’

Sky Sports Action will show Amir Khan versus Phil Lo Greco live from 7pm on Saturday.
