AMIR Khan and Phil Lo Greco successfully made the 150lbs catchweight limit for the former world champion’s homecoming fight in Liverpool tonight.

The Bolton superstar, who held two titles at super-lightweight, ends a two-year absence from the sport and he was bang on the required weight at 10st 10lbs, while Lo Greco was slightly lighter at 10st 9lbs 5oz.

New trainer Joe Goosen has been introduced into the camp for this fight and Khan intends to produce a punch-perfect performance.

“You are going to expect to see an electrifying Amir Khan,” he told Sky Sports News. “You will see the speed, the explosiveness, the power."

Khan said: "Working with Joe Goosen, my new trainer, I’ve been working on a lot of new things. Timing my shots well, making sure I’m not going to make any mistakes in the fight. A polished Amir Khan. It’s going to be a tough fight regardless.

“Phil Lo Greco, he’s come to England to fight me, if he beats me it takes him on to bigger and better fights.”

Also on the bill in Liverpool is Khan’s fellow Boltonian Osman Aslam who hopes to extend his winning professional record to 12 fights against Nicaragua’s Jose Hernandez.
