IT was an afternoon to forget for Wanderers as they were trounced by old enemy Wolves, who clinched the Championship title.

Precious few positives came out of 90 minutes for Phil Parkinson - but how did his players rate. Marc Iles runs the rule over the squad.

WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)

BEN ALNWICK… 4 Has been one of Wanderers’ most reliable customers but serious question marks over the first and possibly second goals.

JON FLANAGAN… 4 Poor afternoon for the Liverpool loanee, whose use of the ball at times simply wasn’t good enough.

DAVID WHEATER… 5 Made some good blocks but also caught flat on a couple of occasions, most notably the straight ball which led to Wolves’ second, scored by Afobe.

MARK BEEVERS 5 Like Wheater, did the rudimentary stuff okay but dropped off at crucial times, which is bad news against a team with such attacking threat.

ANTONEE ROBINSON… 5 Kept running, and saw more of the ball than anyone else but found out of position on a few occasions when Costa drifted wide.

KARL HENRY… 4 Penalty was harsh but Henry quite simply didn’t get close enough to Wolves’ midfield to affect the game.

DARREN PRATLEY… 4 Brought back alongside Henry – which seemed a logical decision – but the captain struggled to lay a finger on anyone.

FILIPE MORAIS… 6 Early free-kicks caused problems and Morais continued to scamper around in the second half when it appeared others had given up the ghost.

SAMMY AMEOBI… 4 Moved up alongside Le Fondre, which worked for 13 minutes. Disappeared from the game entirely in the second half, touching the ball just 14 times.

WILL BUCKLEY… 4 Largely anonymous. Wanderers struggled to get him into the game at all, which was disappointing in the extreme.

ADAM LE FONDRE… 5 Hardly got a sniff of goal against his former loan club. Even he slowed down in a desperate second half.

Subs: Vela 5, 58 (for Pratley) – Marginal improvement

Noone 4, 66 (for Buckley) – Game had gone by the time he arrived

Clough 79 (for Le Fondre) – Puzzling late entrant

Not used: Howard, Taylor, Wilbraham, Burke

Wolves (3-4-3): Ruddy; Doherty, Batth, Boly; Douglas, Saiss, Neves, Coady; Jota, Afobe, Costa

Subs: Bonatini 68 (for Afobe), Gibbs-White 68 (for Jota), N’Diaye 81 (for Saiss)

Not used: Norris, Bennett, Miranda, Hause

Referee: Keith Stroud (Hampshire) 7/10 – Gave a cheap penalty against Karl Henry but no real complaints with the ref’s performance.

Attendance: 19,092 (4,796)

Entertainment: 6/10 – Wolves fans will have loved it, but Bolton’s supporters were only able to sit back and admire the opposition.

Atmosphere: 7/10 – Bolton’s supporters did their best to try and raise the team. The noise, in the main, was coming from the away fans in full party mood, though.
