ATHERTON Collieries' final Saturday at the Kensite Stadium this season saw them collect a point in a goalless draw with Tadcaster Albion.

The result leaves Michael Clegg's side in 11th place in the Evo-Stik North table, ahead of hosting Prescot Cables last night.

The visitors' Billy Whitehouse and Aiden Savory both saw close-range efforts blocked early on, and Savory was also denied late in the half, Danny Lafferty and Danny Lambert denying the Albion man with last-ditch blocks.

Midway through the second half, Jack Kenny breathed a sigh of relief when he prodded a free kick just past his own post and, at the other end, Adam Farrell fired wide for Colls as they looked to pose more of a threat.

However, they almost conceded late on when Mitch Langton's ball put Casey Stewart in on goal, with Greg Hartley happy to see his finish swerve well wide of his goal.

There was still time for Colls to carve out the clearest opportunity of the game, but substitute Gary Burnett shot straight at Taddy keeper Michael Ingham.

Just as in the earlier meeting in Yorkshire, the two sides shared the spoils with neither able to create a goal.

In the Hallmark Security League First Division, Daisy Hill enjoyed a 2-1 victory at Alsager Town.

Saul Guffogg put the visitors ahead six minutes in and Danny Warburton doubled the Daisies' lead just before half time.

Although Taylor Attrell halved the deficit four minutes from time Phil Roberts' side were able to see out the win.

Mid-table Atherton LR fell to a 2-1 defeat at Cheadle Town.

The hosts were a goal to the good at half time, thanks to Michael Sherrington's 10th-minute strike, and made it 2-0 15 minutes from time through Joseph Neild.

Theo Kidd scored for LR to set up an exciting last 10 minutes but they could not find a second goal.
