BARR Hill lifted the BSF Over-35s Football League Division One Cup with a 4-2 victory over Irlam Steel.

The league leaders were losing 2-1 to an Irlam team sitting 16 points below them in the table with minutes of normal time remaining.

Barr Hill were also down to 10 men after having a player sent off midway through the second half.

But they drew level to take the game to extra time in which Barr Hill were the stronger team and scored two quick goals to secure the trophy.

Barry Massey scored two with Jason Mears and Derek Bell adding one each while Danny Butters was on the score sheet for Irlam Steel.

Sunday’s programme started with the Division Four Cup final in which Heaton Casuals raced into a four-goal first-half lead against division champions Bolton Wyresdale who pulled a goal back after the interval.

Paul Gibson scored for the champions, but a Chris Sutcliffe double and goals from Andrew Lucas, Anthony McCormack and Robert Walsh gave Heaton Casuals a well-deserved 5-1 victory.

There were goals aplenty in the Division One league game at Salford Waggon as a Simon Parkes brace and one each by Robert Fayaz and Anthony Jackson gave them four.

But that was not enough as Queen Lizzy scored five. Clint McLoughlin, Tom Collins and Daniel Bonny scored one each for Queen Lizzy while Lee Whiteley scored two.

In Division Two, the top two teams, Radcliffe Old Boys A and Radcliffe Vets, came up against each other and Radcliffe Vets won 4-1 to go joint top on 34 points but have played two more games.

A Dave Malius double and goals from Adam Greenhalgh and Tommy Dawson earned the Vets the points.

There was no shortage of goals in the two Division Three games. Wigan Town lost 6-1 at home to Division leaders Home Guard Failsworth for whom Ben Johnson scored four, aided by one apiece from Paul Lewis and Carl Gavin.

Dobbie B ran riot at Radcliffe Town and moved into second spot, one point behind leaders Failsworth with a game in hand, but they still have four matches to play.

Grant Chapple and Paul Wilkinson scored for Radcliffe Town, but a Mark Longshaw hat-trick ensured the points for Dobbies B while Andy Benjamin, Dave Cosgrove, Carl Swift, Johnathan Sale, Michael Lonsdale and Chris Pedlar netted to boost the goal difference.
