LOSTOCK women achieved numerous age-group victories at the Horwich Festival of Racing three-race mini-tour and the Two Lads fell race.

The Horwich Festival of Racing mini-tour comprises the Liverpool Castle trail race, Pidgeon Tower fell race and Open 5k road race.

Claire Shewbridge was first in her age group with a combined time of 1hr 49mins 2secs for the three races, as was Beverley Atherton-McKenna in one of her first outings for Lostock, finishing with an overall time of 1:52:03.

James Jackson, fresh from the Epic Man half ironman distance triathlon the previous weekend, was fifth overall and fourth-placed man with a combined time of 1:21:33.

Cathy Stratton was fourth in her age group in the Open 5k road race in 23:39.

More age-group victories for Lostock's women followed at the Two Lads fell race, with Josie Greenhalgh and Michele Sunter winning their respective age groups in 43:57 and 51:59, respectively.

Jackson was the first Lostocker home on the night in a time of 39:06, closely followed by Albert Sunter in 40:31 which was good enough for third in his age group.

The 12-strong Lostock team also produced top-10 age-group finishes for Mark Liptrot and Mark Shuttleworth in times of 40:49 and 44:21, as well as equally strong runs from Tony Marlow 42:30, Chris Taylor 44:43, Mark Checkley 50:23, Rob Garstang 51:43, Kerry Varden 51:52 and Jocelyn Chadderton 54:32.

The Edgeworth 10k Reservoir Challenge saw Rachel Hancock finish 13th overall woman and fifth in her age group in 57:19, while Jason Tonge ran a personal best of 23:06 at Bolton parkrun.
