LOSTOCK triathlon member Mary White demonstrated the form that has led her to national and international age-group championships in quadrathlon with another age-group victory in the Deva Divas Quadrathlon.

As if the three-sport format of triathlon was not difficult enough, White added the challenge of kayaking to the existing disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.

She completed the 750m swim in 17mins 8secs, followed by 29:43 for the 4k kayak, a 25k bike split of 51:14 followed by a 25:22 5k run.

Not only did White finish first in her age group, she also finished seventh overall.

Rachel Hancock and Matt Allen completed a very hot UK Fast We Love Manchester 10k in times of 1:01:06 and 1:07:17.

The heatwave also adversely affected Mike Ernill in his attempt at the Bob Graham Round.

The 106k route visits 42 of the Lake District's highest fells with a total ascent of 8,200m, and is one of the iconic fell racing endurance events.

Ernill was forced to withdraw due to the extremely hot weather but after praising the support of fellow runners from Lostock, he vowed to return and complete the course.

Lostock AC results: Bolton parkrun – Jason Tonge 23:10, Andy Laycock 24:27, Scott Rotheram 30:27, Kate Rotheram 32:11.
