BURNDEN ladies won the team prize and scored three age-group victories at the third race in the Horwich Jubilee Series.

Anne Ferguson was first L60 in 37mins 53secs, with Sheila Christie top of the L55 section in 41:54 and Gayle Gerrard first L40 in 41:58.

Lyndsay Darbyshire was the first female member to finish, second L50 in 37:26, with Shirley Staveley third L50 in 38:26. Louise Wall was third L50 in 47:03.

Darbyshire, Ferguson and Staveley’s times combined to lift the team prize on the night.

In the men’s race, Ed Ashton was the first Burndener to finish, 28th overall and third V50 in 33:25.

Tony Wall was third V60 in 36:16 and Phil Glassbrook second V70 in 43:45.

Lorraine Halwood completed her 42nd marathon, finishing 23rd at the Sir Titus Trot race in Saltaire with a time of 5:00:05.

Jackie Oakes registered two marathon wins in three days at the Scorcher Run Festival in Salwick, near Preston.

She won the ladies' race on day three in 4:22:57 and followed that up on day five with a time of 4:00:37.

Sarah Woodiwiss was joint overall winner and took the ladies' race outright in the 50k Ultra on day six at the seven-day meeting with her time of 5:52:52 and Mumtaz Patel was first in the ladies’ Half Marathon in 1:47:41.

Julie Riddle tested herself over the 65 miles of the Preston Pedalfest cycle event and completed it in 6:49:55.
