THE first picture in this week's sporting nostalgia section goes back 49 years in local cricket.

With the semi-finals of Bolton Cricket League's Hamer Cup this Sunday, we look back on a last-four tie between Heaton and Astley Bridge that took place in July 1969.

This picture shows Heaton's Cyril James hitting out after a delivery from Astley Bridge's guest professional Neil Hawke.

Do you have any memories of that game or do you recall any more names from those sides?

Do you remember who went through to the final?

THE second picture features the Little Lever first XI from 1988 and was published in last Thursday's The Bolton News.

We asked for any memories and there was plenty of response on Twitter.

Lee Baldwin tweeted the names in the line-up.

He said: "Left to right, Anthony Hilton, Andy Huntingdon?, Bob Waller, Chris Mathews, Paul Killey, Tony Settle, Ian Settle, Nigel Partington, Simon Anderton, Nigel Hallows, Gilbert Ellis, scorer Ian Rushmore."

Meanwhile, Richard Sutcliffe asked: "Is that the same Anthony Hilton who is still playing even now?"
