Wanderers fans will have a dream trip to Bayern Munich's world-famous Allianz Arena in a Uefa Cup group game on November 8, it was confirmed this afternoon.

Unbeaten Bayern are five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga following a comfortable 3-0 victory against struggling FC Nürnberg at the weekend.

The draw as far as Wanderers were concerned was completed when Aris Thessalonki of Greece became the final team in the group.

Talking of Red Star watching Danny Dyer over there on his football factories prgramme, should be a warm welcome awaiting English fans.

OK some advice from a Red.
Flights thru Hamburg at £120 with kayak.co.uk
Try for hotels at ratestogo.com
Don't mess about saving money thru Stansted, false economy, awful to get to.

As for Belgrade some Reds I know had the worse experience of their lives there, still got ex paramilitaries who think English fans are the ultimate fighting test...be careful.

Welcome back King Eric. I've been to Belgrade and anywhere near that football ground is bandit territory. It'd definitely be best to drink in the centre and then go to the ground at the last minute. Otherwise it's a great place.

once you get into munich its best to take the s-bahn from the airport to hauptbahnhof
it´ll cost you around 15euro to get there
Dont use the taxis from the airport they make up their own prices ,last time i took a taxi from the airport it cost me 6oeuros gawd know what it is now
the hotels are not too badly priced

Will definitely be catching both away games but the Crvena Zvezda game is the one not to miss! As blue said - they will definitely give us a warm welcome, and if anyone thinks the the atmosphere was 'heated' in Skopje wait until you get to the Marakana - once saw a local derby there (red star V partizan) it made an old firm game look like a teddy bears picnic!!
Anyway, finishing in the top three is not beyond us so Europe here we come!!

Not far for us to travel to the final though - City of Manchester stadium : (

Its called the Marakana, after the stadium in Rio, but in someways it is/was more spectacular - a huge sweeping bowl (used to hold 100000) and an support generating an atmosphere that will be 'White Hot' make no mistake!!!

Good advice from Eric too - The English still aren't too popular there with certain groups (Don't mention the war!!) and so 'discreet' support outside the ground is well advised! The supporters club was a 'recruitment agency' for certain Serb paramilitary groups (e.g. Arkans Tigers) and believe me, some of these guys are real bad news.
having cheered you all up I'm still looking forward to the game - the centre of Belgrade is great, plenty of bars AND THERE IS NO SMOKING BAN!!

don't know about prices but salzburg in austria is another option.

if you go to salzburg hauptbahnhof (main station) ask for a "bayern ticket" (bavaria ticket) should cost about 30euro and be valid for up to 4 people so works out at 7.50 each.journey time about 2 hours.

it's not a return it's just a one day ticket to travel anywhere in bavaria for the day and for some reason salzburg is classed as bavaria.

you can only get second class trains (ASK!!!) cause if you end up on an intercity (which i once did drunk, no amount of pleading ignorance will save you having to pay about 80 euros)

not bulling. i lived in bavaria 2001-2005. just wish i could go for this match.

could try nurnberg too (2 hours)- also see bayern ticket. or stuttgart (3 hours) but that's not in bavaria so the trains will be dearer.

no probs with tickets i reckon.

i have watched celtic in munich in the champs league. well behaved hoops fans were able to get in the home end with no bother. unlikely to be a sellout - in fairness it's not an important match for them.

you can have lot of fun there. bayern fans will chant very loudly at you on the tube but i guarantee it won't be offensive-they just want to impress you by how deep their voices are.

the germans are well behaved, non-violent people (unlike many brits) and punch-ups are very much NOT a part of german life at all. they won't be looking for trouble.

you'll have a better chance of swapping scarves or other souvenirs than getting into a scrap so don't even think about it.

the only way you will p*iss them off is unfunny hitler impressions (germans think to make jokes about hitler is laughing at the millions of jews their grandparents murdered - they are happy they lost) or by dropping litter...not kidding either.

by the way when drinking if you want a litre glass of beer ask for "a mass" not "a stein"
. "stein" means "stone". also say "helles" not "lager" as lager is a cellar.

Tickets for the match are already on sale (also for non-members). Prices are between 25 € and 50 € (about 15 pound to 30 pound). The visitors will be in the upper tier of the north stand: 340-347. If you're prepared to go from Stanstead, Easyjet is now at £362 but you can book Air Berlin flying back 6am Friday for 96 Euros by following the special offer tab, from Great Britain and Munich using the 8th Nov option.

Can anyone tell me the approximate first class fare from Manchester to Belgrade please and also which are the nicest 5 star hotels there? I hear the locals are rather hostile but they appreciate a good sense of humour. No doubt we shall oblige them by playing young Mr Nolan in our team once more.
The Hyatt hotel is really the only really decent hotel in Belgrade. Book early as its pretty much always full. Manchester to Belgrade not sure on the the cost of flights. I'm flying there (from Brussels) via Vienna for 400 Euro (business class - so not bad).
Feel sorry for some of you that have had to fork out a fortune for the Munchen tickets, you are all the kind of supporter our club needs - just got mine for 120 Euro. Now to get to work on some tickets!!

Read what I said earlier.

Politics out of the window - This is a dream ticket , a game that cannot be missed. Doesn't matter who is incharge or about the team its about the game itself.

Also if read my post I did thank Sam Allardyce (and I bet he is pig sick that he resigned now!!!) for getting us to UEFA and then thanked the players for last Thursday in getting us to the Group stages.

My politics about the club are still the same but who can afford to miss a tie like this. When are we ever going to play Bayern Munich again???

We are going on the wednesday 11.50 from stanstead to salzburg for £30 return, coming back on friday (ryan air). salzburg is the nearest major airport after munich airport. everton fans will be bombarding nuremburg/hamburg airports on the same night so coming from the other side makes sense. there are trains every hour from salzburg to munich that take just over an hour. We are booking in the ibis muenchen city at £60/room/night right in the centre, see you out there.

Just been on the Bayern website to see about tickets, made interesting reading.Number one the match is at 19.00hrs CET 18.00hrs GMT so be careful if travelling out on the 8th.The capacity of the Allianz Arena is 66,000 and an allocation will have been made to Bolton. At this point in time there are 20,000 tickets available online of which about 90% are in the equivalent of the North and South stands at the Reebok. There are 3 tiers, cheaper the further back and higher up you go from the pitch. The prices are €40 in the lower tier, €35 in the middle tier and €25 in the back, upper tier. Funny how FC Bayern are up-front with their ticket selling and Wanderers will sell out to the package trip industry. With so many obviously gearing up for self booked travel it would be in the clubs' (plural) interest to allow season ticket holders to buy tickets from their clubs and for Bolton to suggest travel packages for those who prefer them. Listen to the roaring silence from the Reebok ticket office.

i would have thought so... the thing about group games is there is a choice of 5 dates (i think) that can be used for the 4 games. now the club know the dates we're playing they will probably be in negotiation with the opposition (in this case boro) and the premier league to get them moved.

Its automatic, all teams playing on a Thurs in Europe switch their next games to Sunday. In our case that's home games v Boro & Wigan and Liv away. Game v Villa was already on a Sunday for TV. I have accepted that the price for being in the Uefa Cup is worse league results, and unfortunately I think our chances of winning those 3 massive home games v Villa, Boro and Wigan are reduced now. But its a price we'll have to pay, because the chance to play Bayern Munich and Red Star Belgrade isnt going to come along again in my lifetime.

yes and there was the city/united game that city refused to move too... both clubs have to agree and it has to be ratified by the premier league...
