Wanderers 0, Fulham 0

Half time

THERE was little to choose between the two teams in Wanderers' relegation battle with Fulham at the Reebok.

Gary Megson's side knew victory would open up a nine-point gap over the second-bottom Cottagers, who were without a win in 13 games.

But clear-cut chances were at a premium in the first period. Fulham's new signing Leon Andreasen went closest to breaking the deadlock on 15 minutes when the former Werder Bremen midfielder's deflected 25-yard shot skimmed the crossbar.

Full-back Gretar Steinsson, making his home debut, went closest for the Whites when he acrobatically volleyed over, while Danny Guthrie dragged a shot horribly wide when well placed.

Ah well back to normal then - closest that we have come to scoring is an effort from our full back. So the Wanderers are not bothered about playing for 3 points just hoping that we dont lose - disgrace

What has happened to the Cahill deal? Has it gone the same way as all the other supposedly transfers that were threatening to join the Wanderers?

ModFishy, Cheltenham says...

Cahill in talks with Birmingham, not looking good, Eidur turned down a return to Bolton. And a pants game at the Reebok! Come on Bolton give me some hope to avoid relegation!

We have scored 24 goals in 23 matches - hardly surprising considering that we are only playing with a lone striker - Megson?Gartside can you not see that you are killing the Wanderers with your negative and totally defensive tactics? Bring back Bill Ridding - all is forgiven!!!

Match stats - 3 shots on target in 68 minutes of play - do Megson and Gartside ever think of reading these fans comments - I doubt it

mikesherrif-I think i would rather have the spectre of Bill Ridding than Megson. We played with 5 up front then! A different world but those were the days!

How right you are - one simple question - while the players were away in Spain the last few days or so what were they doing - obviously practising their football skills was not on the menu!!!!

mikesherriff, harrogate says...

Gary Megson stated earlier that this was a vital match for the wanderers - shame that he did not tell the players or take it into consideration when choosing the team to put on the park

Things can only get better - they cant get any worse -Megson?Gartside you really should take a good long look at yourselves and wonder if you would be better off ruining some other football club - you are certainly not doing this one any good!!!! Transfer window closes in just over 48 hours and we are still unable to score goals!!!!!!

deano, Bolton says...

The analysts on Sky Sports were laughing at us! We are a joke. Phil Gartside you are a disgrace. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Meggers say that we would have been spending over £15 million without the Anelka money? He is a liar and a poor chairman. Unless we get a striker in stat, we are relegated, no ifs or buts, it's as simple as that. Gartside do everyone a favour and get lost. You're a worse chairman than Peter Risdale who bankrupted Leeds. You are appalling. GET LOST. GARTSLIME OUT!

JB, Across the pond says...

Shocking!!!!!! If i hear another quote from the Bolton camp saying they still haven't spent the Anelka Monney then the Question has to be asked of WHY did we sell him in the first place?????? Where are our goals going to come from because we don't have a goal scorer in our ranks!!!!! Extremely dissapointed making it extremely hard on ourselves.........Of
f to for a beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can we go the rest of the season without scoring again, Lets try and set some kind of a record for most games without scoring. We played with a lone striker who scores a goal a season and the most defensive midfild outfit ever. Come on Bolton it's not rocket science!!

Gartside is a serial destroyer of the club.Every decision this dreadful man has taken in the last 12 months has brought about our downfall and humiliation. He could not have been more successful if he had planned our ruination at every step.Gartside, you have been here long enough for any good you have done. For God's sake go.

How can a professional top flight club not have a recognised decent striker in their ranks. Davies is quality but not up front anymore. Even Sunderland have Kenwyne Jones and can score goals, Derby score goals and they are absolutely rubbish. GET A STRIKER MEGSON ARE YOU STUPID MAN OR WHAT!!!!!!! I work so hard like any worthwhile bloke to earn my wages. What the hell happens at this club are they all in it for a laugh???

"Both he and his family are settled in Barcelona. Eidur is hoping to win a trophy with the club this season and will think about things in the summer."
