THERE was little to choose between the two teams in Wanderers' relegation battle with Fulham at the Reebok.
Gary Megson's side knew victory would open up a nine-point gap over the second-bottom Cottagers, who were without a win in 13 games.
But clear-cut chances were at a premium in the first period. Fulham's new signing Leon Andreasen went closest to breaking the deadlock on 15 minutes when the former Werder Bremen midfielder's deflected 25-yard shot skimmed the crossbar.
Full-back Gretar Steinsson, making his home debut, went closest for the Whites when he acrobatically volleyed over, while Danny Guthrie dragged a shot horribly wide when well placed.
