Heidar Helguson converted from the penalty spot and Danny Braaten scored a fine goal to give Wanderers Reserves a 2-1 victory at Blackburn Rovers in their final match of the season.
Mikel Alonso was brought down in a goalmouth scramble following a parried Braaten shot and Helguson stepped up to put the Whites second string ahead at Morecambe's Christie Park. Braaten then pounced when a Dzemali free kick was beaten out.
Josh O'Keefe pulled one back for the home side after his initial shot was blocked by Ian Walker.
Abdoulaye Meite played for Wanderers on a day he reiterated in a television interview his claim that he did not refuse to come out for the second half at Manchester United, which was reported in The Bolton News on Saturday.
Wanderers: Walker, Sinclair, Carlisle, Dzemali, Fojut, Meite, Braaten, (Wolze 83 mins), Alonso, Helguson, Cohen (Woolfe 54 mins), Rasiak. Subs not used: Sissons, Brocklehurst, Sheridan.
