If we had signed (and played) Kevin Phillips a couple of years ago we might be doing better than we are now. McGinlay and Walker were near to 30 when we signed them. I really dont care about a players age, just sign some quality (Roberts and Kamara to renew their Wigan partnership would do for me).

lita scored 14 goals last season 7 in the prem and represented eng u21's 6 goals in 9 apps, roberts has managed 8 goals in his entire premiership career, he has been to more clubs than soft mick, i mentioned age as i would like to build a young hungry team that want to achieve something, not a bunch of over 30's looking for a final payday. i think it was actually roberts and ellington at wigan, and that was in the championship if you speak to most wigan fans they would want Henri Camera cleaning the bogs, still at least we agree about the guthrie signing, he needs to find an end product

I know quite well that Addidas bought the Reebok name for the goodwill rather than anying else. The Reebok name has all but gone in most countries around the world. Even in the US where it was a very strong brand it has been reduced to a sponsor name until the deals runs out and then changing the name to Addidas. Even here in the UK it is really only ourselves (i.e. Bolton Wanderers) that still keeps the brand name going but for how much longer. Again, here in the UK where Reebok were shirt manufacturers with their name on they have been replaced by addidas - so it really wouldn't surprise me if Bolton's new strip will have addidas somewhere on it - although the name Sponsor name will be kept to Reebok (or RBK) until at least the end of the sponsorship.

I like Lita and would have no problem with him. I just dont go along with this "young and hungry" thing. Shearer was hungry in his 30s, a lot of players in their 30s dont appear to be hungry. Phillips has been quality for about 15 years, I'm not saying sign him now, but 4 years ago when he signed for Villa people would have said he was too old, and he continues to be a class finisher. I dont care if players want a final payday if they have the class of Hierro, Djorkaeff, even a Dion Dublin. Roberts and Kamara were the partnership for Wigan in the Prem - Kamara scored against us in the league and Roberts in the league cup. They ripped us apart in both games. Neither are just goalscorers, they are strong, direct, fast, and can score, exactly what we need.
