Luczka plots new Boro campaign

New Radcliffe Borough manager Gerry Luczka will meet with fellow coaches Kevin Glendon and Ronnie Evans tonight as he formulates his plans for next season.

All of last season's squad have re-signed for the club, while midfielder Mark Jones has joined on a permanent basis from Bradford Park Avenue.

Striker Griff Jones, however, is still undecided on whether to make his switch from the Yorkshire club permanent after receiving offers from other clubs.

"We will certainly be looking for another striker and a left-sided midfielder," said Luczka.

"We want somebody on the left side of the three in midfield who can give us balance and doesn't need to cut inside on to his right foot.

"Another goalscorer to play alongside Steve Howson would be great too. If we had two prolific strikers we would do very well in the league.

"There have been one or two players released and a few of those have been in contact.

"Glynn Barker and Pat McFadden, who have been here with us on loan in the past, are now looking for clubs so we will have to see what materialises."

Meanwhile, Boro are nearer to knowing who their league opponents will be next season following the announcement of the official line-up for UniBond Division One for the 2008-09 season.

Division One North will be made up of the following clubs: Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Clitheroe, Colwyn Bay, Curzon Ashton, Durham City, Garforth Town, Harrogate Railway, Lancaster City, Mossley, Newcastle Blue Star, Ossett Albion, Radcliffe Borough, Rossendale United, Salford City, Skelmersdale United, Trafford, Wakefield, Warrington Town and Woodley Sports.

Durham City have been promoted to the UniBond League following a successful appeal to the FA against their ground grading.

There is the possibility of additional clubs being added to the league including Gretna and Halifax Town.

Scottish Premier League side Gretna are in severe financial difficulties and Blue Square Conference club Halifax Town have gone into liquidation but may re-form as a new club in the Unibond League.
