JUSSI Jaaskelainen will sign a new contract with Wanderers within the next few days.
The 33-year-old keeper has been keeping fans on the edges of their seats this summer, as speculation built around whether he would extend his 11-year stay at the club.
Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Celtic and Galatasaray have been among the list of clubs said to be interested in signing the Finland international before ground was made in Wanderers' attempts to keep him at the Reebok.
And although several news agencies reported last night that the Finland international had completed the formalities of a four-year deal, taking him to his 37th birthday, The Bolton News understands that supporters must wait a little longer.
Jaaskelainen has already played in 345 league games for the Whites since arriving in a £100,000 deal from VPS Vaasa in November 1997, and could rival club record 519 appearances of goalkeeping great Eddie Hopkinson if he stays injury-free and first-choice for the duration of his new deal.
