GARY Megson believes club record signing Johan Elmander can finally lay to rest the ghost of Nicolas Anelka.
Having forked out an unprecedented £11million for the Sweden international, the Wanderers boss admits a heavy weight of expectation lies on the club's biggest-ever purchase, not least in the goalscoring stakes.
Anelka's big money departure to Chelsea in January left the club badly lacking a natural goalscorer, and though Megson himself is loathed to compare the two strikers, he hopes Elmander's arrival will go a long way to filling the void.
