Megson's wind of change

GARY Megson is calling for a fresh start on all fronts after a summer of upheaval behind the scenes at the Reebok.

The Wanderers boss has overseen a major reshuffle, including a new-look scouting network, medical staff and coaching hierarchy which he hopes will put the club back on an even keel after over 12 months of uncertainty.

Sam Allardyce's shock departure last April sparked an exodus of backroom staff, many of whom followed him to the North-east when he joined Newcastle United.

And having built up a team over a period of eight years, it was not a simple case of finding ready-made replacements - as his successor Sammy Lee found to his cost as he struggled to plug the holes in the Reebok ship.
