STEVE Bleasdale is trying to instil some consistency into his side after they opened the season with two wins and two defeats.
Leigh Genesis have several players new to the Unibond Premier Division and the manager says they are still finding their feet.
“It is a new league and several teams are up and down, including ourselves, so we have to keep battling away,” he said.
“It is a new team with pressure on them to get promotion and with players new to the league they have to get used to the different style.
“A lot of teams are route one and, although we like to play the ball when we can, some of the grounds and the teams we are up against make that difficult, so we have to be able to adapt.
“We are creating chances, however, and we have to keep putting them away.”
Bleasdale has the luxury of a full squad to choose from at Worksop tomorrow.
FC United will be hoping for another bumper crowd as they look to return to winning ways when they entertain Whitby Town.
A magnificent crowd of 2,825 – nearly 200 more fans than who watched landlords Bury’s League Two clash with Morecambe two days earlier – flocked to Gigg Lane to see their 1-0 defeat against Boston United on Monday. And Karl Marginson is confident his newly-promoted side, who have taken just four points from the opening four games, can get back on track against winless Whitby.
“The lads here are all good footballers, but it is about finding our feet after being promoted,” said the Rebels boss.
“The victory at Buxton showed everyone we can compete at this level.”
