POLAND international Ebi Smolarek is believed to be jetting into England after agreeing a one-year loan deal with Wanderers.
The Bolton News understands that the prolific Racing Santander striker will meet with club officials later to finalise the move, which also includes an option to buy after 12 months.
Under the deal it is understood Ricardo Vaz Te, who has failed to establish himself at the Reebok, will go to Santander. Smolarek has an excellent European pedigree after spells with Feyenoord, Borussia Dortmund and Racing, and also boasts 34 international caps and 13 goals.
His career has often been a controversial one, however, and the 27-year-old was suspended by UEFA in 2002 for a doping offence which caused him to miss the 2002 UEFA Cup Final.
