Boro hope to beat the weather

RADCLIFFE Borough travel to Yorkshire tomorrow hoping their clash with UniBond Division One North high-flyers AFC Halifax Town survives a morning pitch inspection.

The cold snap has put paid to Boro’s last two matches – at Salford City on New Year’s Day and the home clash with Bamber Bridge last weekend – and Gerry Luczka’s men are chomping at the bit following their enforced lay-off.

Luczka has been using the break to step up his search for goalkeeping cover for Phil Priestley. The Boro director of football is worried that an injury or bout of illness for Priestley could spell disaster for his side.

He added: “It is an area of the team which could also benefit from competition for places.”
