WANDERERS plan to resume talks with Gary Cahill over an extended contract after he returns from his summer break.
Cahill, who signed a three-and-a-half year contract in January 2008, is regarded as one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated young defenders.
Talks over a new deal have been put on hold with the centre-back away on international duty.
Despite being linked with a move elsewhere, Cahill has hinted his immediate future will lie at the Reebok, giving reason for optimism that he will pen a new deal in the coming weeks.
