FOOTBALL: Weekend downpours hit the Vodkat NW Counties League programme hard with the games involving all three local clubs — Atherton LR, Atherton Collieries and Daisy Hill — among those postponed because of waterlogged pitches.
LR, who have already had four games called off due to weather problems this season, are hoping for improved conditions tomorrow night when they play host to Bacup Borough in a Premier Division fixture which has been brought forward from November 24.
Daisy Hill travel to Marine tomorrow night in the first round of the Lancashire FA Co-operative Trophy, which was postponed last week.
