THE weather again took its toll on the weekend’s matches with only five games surviving the conditions.

Salford Waggon controlled their game at Dobbies A as they ran out 5-1 winners in Division One.

Steven Fagan opened the scoring for Salford followed by Peter Cottrill’s brace and one from Steven Hughes. Mark Platt scored Dobbies’ consolation.

Walkden Cricket Club put Red Lion under a lot of pressure in a 3-0 victory.

Red Lion failed to convert their chances and goals from Tony Briffa, Christian Bates and Paul Taylor handed Walkden the points.

In Division Two, Victoria started brightly but Quadrant went up a gear after having a man sent off in a 3-2 triumph.

Noel Colman scored a superb solo effort after beating four defenders to opening the scoring for Quadrant.

Dave Scott levelled before the interval, but Mike Macann scored a penalty for Quadrant and Dave Fahay added a third within the first 10 minutes of the second half.

With about 20 minutes to go Gary Sharpe headed from a corner to give Victoria another goal.

Quadrant then had their backs to the wall, but held on to seal the victory.

The match between Bromley Cross and Ashton United ended in a 1-1 draw, with Dave Cunliff scoring for Ashton.

The only match to survive the weather in Division Three was Harwood Grey Mare’s 7-2 win against Lever Bridge Vets.
