SCHOOLS FOOTBALL: Bolton Under-14s maintained their 100 per cent record in the Greater Manchester Schools League with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over a strong Stockport side on Saturday.
The local lads, who appear to be on course to lift the league title, hit top form when Tom Marren (St James’) opened the scoring after 15 minutes.
Stockport came back strongly and levelled the scores on the stroke of half time, but determined Bolton regained their lead with a late Jack Horan (Smithills) penalty before putting the result beyond doubt with an Alex Todd (St James’) goal in the dying seconds.
