Wanderers have issued a “come and get them” invitation to Championship clubs for some of their out-of-favour stars.

It is understood that Owen Coyle is prepared to allow senior players Paul Robinson, Sean Davis and Robbie Blake a chance to gain first-team football in the second tier.

Wanderers have had their ranks boosted recently with the signings of Tim Ream, Ryo Miyaichi and Marvin Sordell, and the return to fitness of Sam Ricketts and Tyrone Mears.

Marcos Alonso is also nearing a comeback after a broken foot and underwent tests yesterday to assess when he can return to full training.

And that has prompted Coyle to invite offers for Robinson, Davis and Blake, for whom regular starts can no longer be guaranteed.

Robinson has been out of the side since the Boxing Day defeat to Newcastle United, save for an appearance against Macclesfield Town in the FA Cup third round.

The combative full-back is out of contract in the summer and has fallen behind Ricketts in the pecking order on the left side of defence.

Davis has suffered horrendously with injury since he was signed on a free transfer from Portsmouth in summer 2009 but made his return for the reserves in December and is now training full-time.

After 27 months on the sidelines and two major operations, the 32-year-old playmaker could yet talk his way into a new contract at the Reebok if he impresses on loan in a similar manner to Ricardo Gardner, who spent a month at Preston North End last season.

Blake has made just one start this term, in the Carling Cup, and two substitute appearances, after signing a one-year extension to his contract last summer.

Young striker Michael O’Halloran could also be allowed out on loan to gain some first team experience, with Coyle hoping a spell could work the same magic as it did for Danny Ward.

Huddersfield Town snapped up the 20-year-old striker for £1million in the summer, and after spending some time on the periphery of the senior set up, it is hoped the young Scot could show similar progress.

The club have been encouraged by reports from Scotland, where defender Rhys Bennett is on loan at Falkirk until the end of the season.

Graeme MacGregor was also allowed to join Scottish First Division club Hamilton Academicals on transfer deadline day.
