DAVID Ngog is on the comeback trail after featuring for the reserves in their 1-0 home defeat against Norwich City yesterday.
The French striker, who has missed much of the pre-season because of a back injury, played 45 minutes for John Henry’s side on a wet afternoon at Euxton and could now come into the equation for the first team’s weekend trip to Hull City.
His only opportunity came midway through the first half, when Canaries keeper Jed Steer palmed over a close range header.
Wanderers had dominated early on but lost the game when Oscar Threlkeld put through his own goal with 14 minutes remaining from a Josh Murphy left wing cross.
Meanwhile, Zach Clough continued his early season scoring form as he netted both goals in Wanderers Under-18s’ 2-2 draw at Norwich City on Saturday.
