BENIK Afobe could be set for a spell on the sidelines after being rushed to hospital for scans an hour before Wanderers ’ clash with Crystal Palace.
The on-loan Arsenal youngster complained of a problem in his groin earlier in the week, which flared up again as he prepared for Saturday’s game.
Just before the teams were announced he tweeted cryptically “In so much pain” and later revealed he had been taken to hospital.
Owen Coyle explained after the 2-1 defeat that the checks had been made as a precaution.
“He felt a little twinge on Friday at the top of his leg,” he said. “The doc and staff looked at it and didn’t want to leave anything to chance.
“So they sent him to hospital to get a scan and make sure everything is okay. That’s why he missed out.”
