CARETAKER Whites manager Jimmy Phillips has confirmed the club has made an official approach to Crystal Palace to speak to Dougie Freedman about becoming the next permanent Wanderers boss.
Phillips won his first game at the helm against Bristol City on Saturday and is expected to take charge at Wolves tomorrow.
But he has validated speculation that Freedman is the man Wanderers want to replace Owen Coyle.
Phillips said: "We had the players in training on Sunday and Phil (Gartside), the chairman, came in to say he’s had contact with Crystal Palace to speak to Dougie Freedman.
"Whether that goes ahead we don’t know."
