Queen Lizzie survive scare stay top of the pile

DIVISION One leaders Queen Lizzie lived dangerously against bottom side Salford Lads Club, but came away with a 3-2 victory after leading 2-1 at half time.
Damian Winard, Paul Nuttall and Trevor Hill scored the goals.
Mark Morris scored two of Walkden’s goals in a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Salford Waggon.
Daten moved up to second by beating Cheers Bar 5-2 and have two games in hand on the leaders. Neil Matthews scored two and Chris Bennett, Gary Norris and Paul Kellet hit one each. O’Shea scored Cheers Bar’s consolation.
Victoria took three points from a 3-2 win at Atherton Town to move above Cheers Bar. Gary Peachey and Jason Rudd scored for Town, but one from Gary Looker and a brace by Mark Clements gave Victoria the victory.
Division Two leaders Pineapple beat Harwood Grey Mare 1-0 and fifth-placed Ashton Town won 2-1 at PF Bury where Kodjar scored for the home side, but goals by Jenkins and Smyth gave Ashton the points.
Second-placed Bromley Cross went behind to Chorlton Sports, but Dave Haslam equalised 10 minutes later and a 30-yard thunderbolt from Dean Hanley put them ahead at the interval. Ivan Crompton increased Cross’s lead and Haslam scored his second 15 minutes from time. Chorlton pulled one back 10 minutes from the end.
To clear the backlog of 47 league games, midweek matches have been arranged in addition to Sundays and all games are scheduled to finish on Wednesday, May 8.
