Hindsford's title bid frustrated by Gregs
HINDSFORD were frustrated in their bid to secure a second successive Manchester League Premier Division title when they lost 3-1 at Manchester Gregorians on Tuesday night.
Trailing 2-0 at half time at Platt Lane, Barry Massey’s side pulled a goal back through Tom Valentine before Gregs had the last word.
Hindsford will go into Saturday’s final game just one point ahead of second-placed East Manchester, needing to win at home to Walshaw Sports.
Saturday’s opponents are four points further behind in third place and, with a game in hand, could also win the title.
East Manchester’s final game is away to Wythenshawe Town while Walshaw’s final fixture is at home to bottom club Leigh Athletic.
