DATEN are one win away from clinching the BSF Over 35s Division One title.
Their resounding 5-0 victory over Salford Lads Club means they will leapfrog both Salford Waggon and Queen Lizzie Vets if they win one of their remaining two games.
Second-placed Waggon edged to victory over second-bottom Walkden CC with an opener from Wayne Barlow and a last-minute strike from Jay Mears either side of a Neil Matthews equaliser.
There were plenty of goals in Division Three with nine in the match between the top two teams, champions Henighans and Bolton 6th Form College.
John Done scored two for Henighans with Graham Clarke, Mick Maginty and Martin and Phil Regan adding one each as the top men won 6-3.
Pig & Whistle beat JLJ Golborne 4-2 and are just one point off second place with a game in hand.
Andy Nuttall scored two, and Nicky Munro and Mark Longshaw one for the winners who will finish second if they beat Bolton Lads & Girls Club tonight. BLGC scored six on Sunday against Victory Vets in which Jimmy Reynolds and Lee Wood shared the honours with a hat-trick each.
