Ugly scenes mar Khan's victory

BOLTON boxer Amir Khan's victory on Saturday night was marred by a ringside battle between fans which left a man needing emergency treatment.

One man has been arrested following the fight, which broke out at Bolton Arena after Khan's match against Denmark's Martin Kristjansen.

Police say inquiries into the incident are continuing.

According to reports a fight broke out between half-a-dozen fans, when chairs were thrown and one spectator was left requiring oxygen treatment at the ringside.

The man, who was badly beaten up, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Speaking at the press conference later, the 21-year-old Olympic Silver Medallist said he was upset to hear about the fight in the crowd.

He said: "Everyone should come and enjoy the boxing and leave the fighting to me and my opponent."
