Lancashire's forgotten man Iain Sutcliffe is aiming to bite back by featuring in both forms of the game this year.
The left-handed opening batsman was restricted to just three County Championship matches last season - and he hasn't played a competitive one-day contest for the Red Rose since 2005.
But after a winter working on his game, including a half-century on the pre-season tour of the UAE, Sutcliffe is ready and raring to go.

"My main aim is to get in both teams. I don't have a preference between one-day and four-day - I want to help Lancashire win games in both forms," confirmed the 33-year-old, who was set to play in yesterday's washed out friendly against Yorkshire.
"I have got to make sure that I am ready for the call, because when I get an opportunity I need to take it."
Sutcliffe looks to be competing with former skipper Mark Chilton for the right to partner Paul Horton in the County Championship opener against Surrey at the Oval on Wednesday.
The second day of Lancashire's scheduled two-day friendly against Yorkshire at Old Trafford was washed out again yesterday.
