IT was great to see Arsenal's Danny Welbeck properly celebrate his winning goal against former club Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend.

Why shouldn't he? The striker, who joined United aged nine, was committed to the Old Trafford cause for 15 years until the club ditched him last summer in favour of someone “better”.

People talk of him betraying the United faithful, but the boyhood Red Devils fan was forced to move on.

Players are paid to do a job. They owe it to themselves and the team who pay their wages to be loyal and that means celebrating with the fans who are chanting their name, however much that may hurt.
