Bolton and District Anglers Association have been shocked by the sudden death of their match secretary, David Hanson.
Mr Hanson was the longest serving official of the Association and had served in various positions on the committee.
In the early 70s he was unbeatable in competitions and won nearly all the trophies.

In 1972, he led the Jolly Anglers club to the North West Winter League finals.
Association secretary Terry McKee paid tribute to Mr Hanson: "Dave was a one-off character and will be sorely missed. His match-fishing achievements are legendary."
Tributes to him have continued to be made and he will be remembered as a true stalwart of the Association. Mr Hanson is survived by his wife Anita, son John, sisters Evelyn, Florence and Lily and five grandchildren Richard, Joseph, Sebastian, Matthew and Sarah, uncle to Edward and William.
The funeral will take place on Thursday, at St Joseph's RC Church, Peter Street, Bury at 11am.
