A YEAR after her last Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships at Nottingham, Katie Ingram improved on last season's performance by 31 positions to claim 21st in the senior ladies 8k race.
Club stalwart Dave Griffin was the star of the show for Burnden Roadrunners at Sunday's Roddlesworth Roller race in Abbey Village. Dave, who is one of the longest serving members of the Smithills-based club, ran a strong race on the testing off-road course to pick up first prize in the V60 category. Tony Connell was third V65 in the men's race.
TOM Carson the 15-year-old St Joseph's School student was one of six Bolton Harriers who represent Greater Manchester at the English Schools Cross Country Championships. He produced the best performance of the day in the intermediate boys race, finishing second.
TWELVE Burnden Roadrunners lined up with more than 3,500 runners for the Liverpool Half Marathon, and over half of them were rewarded with a top-10 placing in their age-group.
BOLTON United Harriers youngsters were in fine form as they competed for Greater Manchester in the regional finals of the Sportshall competition held at Robin Park in Wigan.
