BOLTON United Harriers youngsters were in fine form as they competed for Greater Manchester in the regional finals of the Sportshall competition held at Robin Park in Wigan.
The 12 athletes selected were U13s Will Valentine, Callum Ashton, Rob Makin, Lorna Miller, Rachel McMorran, Emma Wiggans and U15s Josh Boaler, Anthony Dunn, Jack Taylor, Alan Woods, Ashley Marshall and Mia Delvard.
They were competing against teams from Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria.
The outstanding athlete for the team was Boaler who finished with two gold medals to add to the four he won earlier in the month at the Greater Manchester Sportshall Championships. He also walked away with the trophy for most outstanding athlete of the day and he will now travel to Birmingham to compete in the national finals.
Jason Kenny, the 20-year-old Olympic double medal winner from Farnworth, is now looking forward to returning home to celebrate with family and friends.
