BOLTON Harrier Tom Carson is going to take on the world next month.
The Horwich 15-year-old has been selected by England for the World Schools Cross Country Championships in the Czech Republic.
Tom proved his top-level credentials when he finished second in the English Schools Championships at Sefton Park, Liverpool a fortnight ago.

That earned him a call-up to the six-man England team to compete at the Home Nations Championships in Perth, Scotland, on Friday, (March 28), and the World Schools Championships on April 24. The St Joseph's School student said: "I just wanted to finish in the top eight at the English Schools final, so to come second was a lot better than I expected.
"I got a phone call telling me I was in the England team for the Home Nations race and that I could run in the World Schools Championship for England as well."
