RADCLIFFE AC's Anna Lupton had an excellent run in the 24-mile Three Peaks Fell Race, finishing 17th woman in an international field of 742 runners.
Lupton, who has competed in the event once before, smashed her previous time, running the course in 3hours 56mins 54secs.
The race incorporated the World Mountain Running Association's long distance mountain challenge race which included competitors from 19 countries. It started from the tiny village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales and took in the three famous peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, recording 5,000 feet of climbing.

The race was also an English championship event and Lupton's superb time gained her several championship points.
Also taking part from Radcliffe was V50 Peter McNulty, who was running the event for the first time and was pleased with his time of 4hrs 16mins 41sec.
Meanwhile, Radcliffe held its annual 10k race from Radcliffe High School and the successful event drew 253 runners with James Kevan from Horwich taking first place. Two club runners took part , Jayne Booth (V45) clocking 48mins 51secs and James Rhodes (V65) 54. 14.
