Plenty of promise for youngsters of Forrest

Forrest G's team of youngsters are displaying all the determination and potential skills that create the stars of tomorrow.

They turned out a creditable performance against the more experienced opposition of D L Farnworth D when they visited them at their David Lloyd Leisure Club base for their E Section fixture.

The home side's Carol Deplitch and Sam Ford took the opening set but Forrest's Kathryn Travis and Andrew Mealor came back straight away with both their games.

The mixed games were hotly contested with Farnworth moving into a 6-4 lead, but Forrest levelled when Kathryn Travis and Helen Peters took top ladies for Forrest.

Sam Ford and Allan Barnes resumed the status quo with both top men's for Farnworth, but when Helen Peters and Taruna Patel took both second ladies' the match was all-square with everything resting on the final men's.

Here, Farnworth's Christian Ellcock and Allan Barnes just managed to take the first, and then clinched the final game for a 10-8 home win from a nail-biting fixture.
